Lord, Hear Our Prayers For:
Prayers of thanksgiving and praise
Heavenly Father, we lift up our hands and our hearts with gratefulness and praise to you this morning. We thank you for waking us up for another day! You bless us each morning with new mercies and continue to shine your light through our lives. We thank you for the gift of our church and community, that you have placed us here to be a continuous beacon of hope and life for those around us, sharing the good news of Christ each and every day!
Prayers for our Installation Candidates
God, we are blessed with the ability to install two individuals to join our staff. Bless Luke and Janine as they take this next step into their work serving here at Bethlehem Lutheran Church. We ask that you bless Luke during his vicarage year, that you would grant opportunities for growth both in knowledge but also in shepherding. Be with him and guide his endeavors. We ask that you be with Deaconess Dr. Janine Bolling as she begins her time here at Bethlehem as Senior Director of Educational Services, a new role for our church and school that will allow us to grow even more. God, we stand in this church about to say a promise to these individuals, that we would support and guide them in their calls. Please help us to support, care, love and help them as they live out their calls. Be with the ministries that they will both be directly working with and with the teams in their care.

Prayers for our church
Lord, continue to bless us this summer. As our ministries continue to grow and work to serve our community. We ask that you would watch over and guide our leaders and staff.
We pray that you would continue to bless our childcare, our teachers and Bethlehem Lutheran School. Give us wisdom and knowledge as we grow these ministries. Help us to shine a light to our students that they can carry with them for the rest of their lives.
Bless our VBS this week, be with those who are tasked with volunteering and leading it. Be with the kids who attend and work through this week to help them keep growing closer to you.
We ask that you would also bless those who are volunteering in our many programs and tornado relief efforts this summer, and for those who are taking on new roles. We give you praise and thanksgiving for all those who are continuing this support of our ministries. Equip their minds and set a fire within them, that they would continue to bless our community and our church.
We pray for those in our church who take care of those around them. We are called to love our neighbors as ourselves and there are some of us who have been carrying the weight and burdens of many people in their lives. We ask that you would encourage them. That you would give them strength and let them find rest when they can. Give each of us a fervor in our spirit to take care of the people in our lives.
We pray for those in our church who are traveling this summer. As they come and go we ask that you would watch over them, be with them and protect them. Bless their travels and let your light shine through them, wherever they may be! Bring them home safely.
During this season of growing we ask that you would continuously refresh us Lord. Refresh our spirits, minds, and hearts. Give us wisdom, courage and strength to help each other. Guide us as we continue to support the ministries we have been blessed with. We can't do it alone, God, we ask that you would strengthen us, that you would continue to provide helping hands, that you would use us as helping hands and passionate hearts who can help us carry these ministries.
We pray that you would place your hand over our the food pantry, our ongoing tornado relief efforts, growing our educational programs and all of ministries here.
We ask that your spirit would guide our actions and that you would fill our minds with wisdom and knowledge.
Prayers for Compassion and Healing
This earthly life is not without pain or suffering. We pray for those who suffer earthly pains and for the hands that care for them. We pray that you would grant healing to those who are suffering, and if healing is not your will, we pray that you would grant peace to them and those around them.
We continue to pray especially today:
For Miss Margie, in her continued healing
For Little John Schmidtke, that you would continue to work in his life as he grows
For Joyce, in her continued recovery after her heart attack
For Lashonda, in her continued health struggles
For Bridget Randle, as she fell and broke her jaw
For Elgin Bolling, as he awaits results about a possible clot traveling to his heart
For Lorenda Bolling's Mother, as she recovers from knee surgery
For those in our congregation who suffer from cancer and other ongoing illnesses
For those who struggle with anxiety and depression and other mental health issues
For those who are in pain
For those recovering from or are seeking treatment for illnesses.
Place your hands over all of these people, Lord, heal them. Bring them comfort and peace. Be with them and guide the actions of doctors and nurses who are charged with taking care of these individuals. Be with each of those who we have listed here and with those who continue to need your healing hand.
Prayers for Comfort in Loss
We pray for those in our congregation who have suffered from loss recently. We pray that you would grant peace to the loved ones who are left here on earth. We look for comfort in so many ways but, Lord, remind us today that the ultimate source of comfort and healing is in you. We pray that your will be done and we would remember that your plan will always happen at the right time. Remind us that loss is not the end, that through the death and resurrection of Christ, we will be joined together again. Work through us to comfort and support those in our congregation who have experienced loss. Let your light shine through us to show others the love that you have shown to us.
We pray all these prayers along with the prayers in our hearts. God, you know our minds and our hearts and you meet us everywhere, we pray that your hand would continue to guide us and hold us steadfast in your love. Amen.
